In this interview, registered acupuncturist Amrit Singh gives us a peek inside her journey and practice, the way she has gone about finding her path and making career decisions (not what you’d think and not something you could write in a business plan lol), all the things she wishes she had known when she started, the inspiring reason she doesn’t experience the imposter syndrome, how her definition of success continues to change, and why (according to an Instagram queen herself) you do NOT need to be on Instagram…

“It’s not something you could write in a business plan, but it’s very much something I believe.”
“I feel like I’ve reinvented my practice probably 4 or 5 times over the years.”
“There’s a tipping point with a practice. So you see X amount of patients a day. You have your rent or your lease or whatever. How many people do you need to see where these costs are being covered plus some and you don’t feel burnt out. There’s a magic number in there. And it took me a long time to get that.”
“This is what I’m here for. I feel that in the bottom of my core energy, my soul. Being an acupuncturist, sharing it, teaching it, providing education… this is my soul’s purpose. So I can’t have imposter syndrome if I have this deep knowing”
“I’ve had to learn what is success, what do you define as success, what is important to you, what is your work-life balance, how are you going to manage living your life as a regular person in society being an acupuncturist. There’s a lot there that is opposite.
“I want others to know that you don’t have to be on Instagram. I had a full practice for years before I started caring about Instagram. Caring about Instagram came from my inner need to share and educate. It didn’t come from wanting to, I don’t know, be an influencer or anything else.”

“My definition of success changes all the time. I think that’s an ongoing thing, and it’s always changed. And it’s different for everybody”
