I’m betting that, like me, you feel turned off by the idea of marketing, and feel like our amazing medicine shouldn’t need to be “marketed”.

I’m an acupuncturist & herbalist, and mama of two. I have an acupuncture clinic in Denver, Colorado. I’ve also been teaching business to acupuncturists for 9 years at Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In 2011 I started my acupuncture clinic, and I didn’t know anything about running or marketing a business. But I HAD to learn because I had a boatload of student loan debt and no back-up plan.

I was working (and worrying) non-stop, fretting about where patients would come from, and trying to figure out which marketing strategies would work best and which ones were mostly BS.

I wasted a lot of money and energy on "marketing" that didn’t work. I started to see what works and what doesn't. I decided to simplify the process, cut out the stuff that made me feel icky and didn’t work, and focused on the things that actually moved the needle (pun intended :o) and felt good. I’ve helped hundreds of acupuncturists do the same, and I’m here to help you too!

I believe in the power of acupuncture, that being self-employed is the best self-help tool around, in showing up even when it’s scary, in the power of vulnerability and honesty, in done over perfect, and in finding YOUR best way to connect and grow your patient base.

So how did I end up teaching marketing for acupuncturists?

Back in 2011, I graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College and started my own clinic, The Point Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine, LLC.

I had no clue what I was doing or how to grow a business. I thought that so many people could benefit from acupuncture, that it wouldn’t need to be “marketed”. But then I opened my doors and…. crickets. Where is everybody, I wondered! So I tried what I thought was “marketing” and…. still, crickets. It was a waste of money, which was scarce at the time. I was deflated.

So I decided rather begrudgingly that I better learn something about “marketing” and picked up some books. To my surprise, I learned that good marketing is soulful, authentic, inspired, and in alignment. It challenged me to express myself with more empathy, honesty, and fearlessness. It asked me to rise up, share what I knew to be true, and step into my confidence. Learning effective and heart-centered marketing has been surprisingly empowering. And within 10 months of starting, I had hit my year-one goals.

At the same time, CSTCM reached out to me and asked me to teach their business class. I had only just graduated a few months prior, so was inclined to say no due to my lack of experience. The dean knew that I had a background in finance and practically begged me to teach. I said yes, and I'm so glad I did! It turned out to be a passion-project of mine... supporting and teaching other acupuncturists to build thriving clinics.

And I am so grateful to be here teaching you how to start, build, grow, and market your acupuncture practice!

I love my job. I love my patients. I love my associates. I love our medicine. I love making the world a better place one healthy & happy patient at a time. When I look at my calendar chock-full of their names, I feel so lucky and grateful.

Not only is the financial security fantastic, but my lifestyle has dramatically changed. After learning and embracing these marketing techniques, no longer was I wondering where my next patient would come from, worried about how I’d be able to pay myself or pay off student loan debt, or insecure about my medicine and skills. I was able to stop worrying or scrambling, trust that patients would flow, and experience a confidence and way of life that I did not know was possible for me.

That’s why I want to teach these marketing skills to other acupuncturists.

Why, you ask?

Because I know our medicine is needed by so many people, and marketing (and mindfully sharing the key stories we want people to understand about acupuncture) is key to helping acupuncturists reach and help those people. It's also the key to help themselves access a meaningful life of security, confidence, and growth. I can’t think of anything else I’d rather spend my time doing than helping more people to help more people :o).

My belief is that you are amazing, that the world needs you to rise up and step into your confidence. I've created, videos, articles, and classes that help you grow your practice, help more patients, make more money, live your purpose, and make your life easier.

I want your practice to prosper. Your patients to love you. And your life to thrive. That is all.

My job is to help you understand and implement the key steps and strategies, adapt it so that it aligns with yourself, and feel the ease and confidence to finally see things GROW.

I’ve taught the business class to acupuncture students for more than eight years. I’ve had the pleasure to serve hundreds of acupuncturists to build clinics based on their special gifts, passions, and skills.

I also know very well how the single business class you get in acupuncture school is just not enough. When this is your livelihood.. this is your calling.. this is our medicine.. this is peoples’ health and happiness…. at stake. It deserves so much more than 15 weeks of class to help prepare you for this huge and noble calling.
